Senior member, Harry Allen, relocated from Vicksburg, Mississippi to Gulfport in 1967 to run the Gulfport office of the firm Bryan, Gordon, Nelson, and Allen. Bryan, Gordon, Nelson and Allen’s main office was in Pascagoula, Mississippi and traced its origin to the practice founded by John F. Bryan, III, in 1954. Mr. Bryan was joined by Rex Gordon and the late Ned Nelson to form the partnership of Bryan and Gordon in 1962.
Over the next three decades, the demand for the firm’s services, primarily in insurance defense litigation, led to the establishment of additional offices throughout south Mississippi, as well as New Orleans, Louisiana and Mobile, Alabama. The firm eventually focused its practice in three Mississippi locations; Pascagoula, Hattiesburg and Gulfport. Bryan, Nelson, Allen, Schroeder, Cobb and Hood in Gulfport; Bryan, Nelson, Allen, Schroeder and Weathers in Hattiesburg; Bryan, Nelson and Schroeder in Pascagoula. Although the lawyers in these three offices have continued to work with one another on numerous occasions, they decided to establish autonomous firms in 1992.
